We gather two types of
information about visitors to our website:
· Aggregated
tracking information derived by tallying page views throughout our site pages.
This information allows us to better tailor our content to visitors' needs and
to help us better understand the demographics of our audience.
· Information
our visitors provide through voluntary op-in submissions. These are voluntary
submissions in our sign-up forms so that our members and subscriber may receive
our electronic newsletters, participate in voluntary polls and surveys from
time to time in our market research. Detailed explanations are provided in the
following sections.
www.thenamecard.com
gathers User Information in the Following Processes:
1. Electronic newsletters
policy (Dispatches)
We offer
electronic newsletters to our registered users who voluntarily submit users
email addresses on subscription basis. Users may remove themselves from our
mailing list at any time through the unsubscribe link provided in every
newsletter.
2. "E-mail this to a
friend" policy
Our site users can choose to
electronically forward a link, page, or a listed name card from our site to their
friends by clicking "e-mail this to a friend". The user must provide
their email address, as well as that of the recipient. This information is used
only for transmission purpose and to let the recipient know who sent the email.
The information is not used for any other purpose.
3. Polling & Surveys
We may offer interactive
polls to our users so they can share their opinions about certain topics.
Opinions or other responses to polls are aggregated and are not identifiable to
any particular user. www.thenamecard.com
may use
a system to "tag" users after they have voted, so they can vote only
once on a particular topic.
www.thenamecard.com
may occasionally conduct user surveys to
better target specific market and audience. We may use the survey results in an
aggregated form to provide demographic data to help our clients in their
marketing research. None of these data will identify any participant
individually.
4. Website Usage Tracking
We track user traffic
patterns throughout all parts of our sites. However, we do not correlate this
information with data about individual users. We do break down overall usage
statistics according to a user's IP address, browser type, and MIME type by
reading this information from the browser string (information contained in
every user's browser).
We sometimes tracks and
catalogs the search terms that users enter in our Search function, but this
tracking is never associated with individual users. We use tracking information
to determine which parts of our sites are popular or not popular based on traffic
to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well
each page performs overall. This helps us to continually improve our service to
our users.
5. Cookies
We may place a text file
called a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer. The cookie
itself does not contain Personal Information although it will enable us to
relate your use of this site to information that you have specifically and
knowingly provided. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information
you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie
files created by other sites. Our advertising system delivers a one-time cookie
to better track advertisement impressions and click rates.
You can refuse cookies by turning
them off in your browser. If you have set your browser to warn you before
accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. You
do not need to have cookies turned on to use this site but some components of
this website may not function properly without cookies. You do need cookies to use
certain part of our services such as listing subscription, advertising on our
website and to view certain contents on our website in order for our website to
work properly.
6 Our Partners, Affiliates and Agents
On occasions we may partner withselected companies to provide our users added value and resources. In such
events we may advertise their products and services which may be useful to our
users. We may pass on some non-personally-identifiable information such as
click-through information and domain type to our partner or affiliate sites. At
the current stage we have not appointed any agent to engage in any form of
